As you might know, cyber-crime has been on the rise and it causes significant damage to the global economy worth around breath-taking $445 billion every year. American thriller-drama TV series, Mr. Robot, portraits the phenomenon of hacking and follows the main protagonist, Elliot, a schizophrenic computer engineer that works at a cyber-security company, but finds himself within a society planning to destroy the corporation he is paid to protect.
The highly acclaimed thriller-drama, which received the 2016 Golden Globe Awards for best drama and supporting actor earlier this year, has hacked itself to a second season. The show is full of “Easter eggs” and the fans are already decrypting various messages from the first couple of episodes of the v2.0 season. The titles of episodes resemble long file names (e.g. eps2.0_unm4sk-pt1.tc), and users can access hacked website of a fictitious company E Corp, and try out their “coding” skills on the show’s website (which mostly are mostly used of old commands from MS-DOS). You can watch the show at Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service.
Moreover, Mr. Robot is launching a unique VR experience at Comic-Con today (21/07/2016); a first-of-its-kind “Virtual Reality simulcast stunt”. After installing the with.in app you can, together with the cast of Mr. Robot, enjoy the intriguing 12-minute VR experience, which was written and directed by the show’s creator, Sam Esmail, and co-produced with Here Be Dragons for Chris Milk’s Within platform. The creators suggest not to miss it as immediately after the premiere, the content will disappear from the app. You can find the instructions on how to participate in the VR experience here. The simulcast starts at 10:45 Thursday, Pacific Time (18:45 Thursday, British Summer Time).
