A visit to an analysis lab is not a pleasant destination for any of us. Especially, if you think about children who completely freeze at the thought of a needle stinging and hurting them. This state of anxiety gets even worse once we see ourselves surrounded by the cold and blank white halls, so typical to almost all waiting rooms of hospitals, or labs.

To diminish panic mode of such patients, Regina Maria — the largest network of hospitals, clinics, and laboratories in Romania — together with CAP agency and Romanian illustrator Saddo — redefined the sober color concept of an analysis lab, by embracing the true face of medicine and expressing it through a series of vibrant illustrations.

These magical decorative images developed by the versatile artists are based on scientific truths, and depict, in a fun way, simple procedures followed by scientists in their process to discover the mysterious world of microorganisms.

Looking through a microscope’s lenses, a doctor observes the hidden actions of the microorganisms’ community. But an artist might interpret such type of images from a creative point of view. Seeing the human body as a living temple, the Bucharest-based illustrator gave a distinct note to this tiny and almost invisible world. It stood as a source of inspiration for this brilliant work of art that now enchants patients’ eyes who use the premium health care services offered by Regina Maria’s high-tech laboratories.

These fascinating illustrations describe the medical world with all its “scientific processes and equipment, micro-organisms, bacteria, and lots of fun stuff, which bring a warm human touch to the labs, also making them the most visually attractive lab in Romania,” explains the Romanian artist.

Such impressive colorful posters are the real proof of a vivid and attractive lab, where even the most frightened patients are able to overcome their fears and look forward towards a warm and friendly place, where all customers are received with opened arms by the lab’s specialists.

These interesting drawings were born to promote the high-tech testing rooms, with the hospital’s representatives reaching out to the creative minds of CAP and Saddo in order to identify the best way to describe “a connection between all the meticulous scientific processes happening in their labs – and art / illustration,” adds the muralist.
