No matter how often we use headphones, they always find a way to get tangled in our pockets, in a matter of seconds. It’s like they are still keeping the music rhythm they’ve been playing, and following some inexplicable flow, they transform into a big mess regardless of where they are stored. One mathematical theory says there’s nothing we can do to prevent this frustrating phenomenon from happening. The longer the cables are, the higher are the chances for a strong, and more complex knot to be formed.
Divyan Kriplani and Mukesh Jadhav from Ogilvy / Bahrain, with graphic designer Mark Gmehling thought about a practical way of solving this issue that doesn’t involve science, but rather comfort: wireless headphones. To highlight how important music is for a happy spirit, but also to show how frustrating tangled headphones can be, the artists created a series of impressive 3D illustrations, promoting Bose’s wireless headphones, a product delivered by VIVA Bahrain B.S.C.
Using images of some famous musicians, the artists’ impressive work points out the power of Bose’s wireless headphones to ‘unknot’ such complex cable bundles.
These scenarios take place in a chaotic world, where some renowned musicians are depicted as tangled up in messy wires and looking really tired of this modern-day problem.
The magic of these images is intelligently sketched by Gmehling, who succeeded to convey the main idea of this irritating issue by subtly drawing some regular pair of headphones cords within every sketched picture.
In each illustration, the earbuds cables interrupt famous musicians from performing really great concerts that one anxiously expects.
The creators preferred not to reveal the musician’s identity. Instead, they invited viewers to take a lucky guess and say which music star stumbled across the annoying wires.
We managed to recognize one of them as being Michael Jackson, but can you tell who the others are? Let us know in the comments!
