Since the beginning of time, human beings expressed their social attributes and their need to live in groups by constantly looking for opportunities to establish new connections with other individuals. They kept track of each other with some exciting ‘tweets’ they left on cave walls. Not far from the prehistoric ancestors are we, the modern-day humans, who instead of using cave graffiti to connect with others use Twitter or Facebook to ignite new conversations.
At no time in history was it easier to find the perfect match as it is in the 21st century. Thanks to state-of-the-art dating apps, finding your significant has never been ‘simpler’ – at least compared to people from the past who weren’t that lucky in terms of romance.
In its latest spot, the world’s most popular app for meeting and dating new people, Tinder, takes us back to prehistoric times only to show us how, over the span of thousands of years, we have complicated things when it came to romantic relationships.
Tinder’s view upon the “Invention of Together” is complemented by the rich imagination of creative design agency Buck, which tracked down the genesis of love in a 75-second-long animation. The action opens with an adorable scene which focuses on the first romantic encounter between a man and a woman, an act quite “scary at first.” But fortunately, it ends up as love at first sight and it doesn’t take long until the caveman invites his lady to a date.
But after centuries of perfect love stories, humans started to overcomplicate things with “dumb rules,” so the sparks between two lovers began to fade. Arranged marriages, traditional families, religious differences, and political divisions, all these restrictions prevented people from forming new, powerful bonds with one another – up to a point, when Tinder made its big entrance to the love stage and allowed people to connect with whomever they want.
The video is a masterpiece in the true sense of the word. Once again, Buck.tv proved that, when it comes to animation, they are one of the best in the industry. Previous to Invention of Together, the studio’s talent and passion for quality animation opened our path to the vibrantly colored world of Safari, in which the team used Sherwin-Williams-inspired paint chips to outline the beauty of nature.
But as far as the current campaign goes, in just one minute, you get to indulge your sight with a series of stunning 3D images, which fuse together in a precise combination of the right graphic elements to form the adorable characters that tell the story of the “man and womankind’s eternal struggle to couple.”
For the visual impact to become even stronger, the production company combined 3D elements with real-life 3D landscapes. Hours of intense work paid off as the computer-generated characters perfectly blended in with the handmade environment to form a piece of visual art that simply tickles your mind.
Moreover, a keen eye can easily see that the cute animation comes with an educative message that highlights some historical key moments that opposed forming new social bonds.
