Your mom’s plans for Mother’s Day are probably to relax at a spa, but what about your dad’s plans for Father’s Day? Sure, you can surprise him with last-minute gifts like socks, ties, pajamas, or car magazines, but have you ever thought that what your father really wants for his day is something much simpler than these ‘usual suspects’? Let’s say he’d be more than happy to spend his day alongside his family and friends, cracking open a cold one… Hmm? Have you ever thought about that?
If you still didn’t get the hint, then Deutsch agency‘s work for Busch may open your eyes and guide you to the perfect gift your dad really wants for this special day. Just in time for Father’s Day, the beer brand hired an American dad to show all families in the world that all dads want for their day is just the gift of a cold, fresh brew. Yup, that’s right. Just beer.
Meet the company’s newest employee, Joe Gray. A father of three and a resident of a small town, Cherry Valley, NY. Although he appreciates all the efforts his family puts to make his day special every year very much, he can’t reach the nirvana status because those gifts weren’t exactly what he was hoping for. All he looks for is an ice-cold beer!
Busch went great lengths and made sure that Mr. Gray would enjoy his day exactly as he wants! Throughout the day, the brand left clever hints all over the city, so that the family would know what gifts to get him. Buildings were covered with huge printed ads, store-fronts and streets were embellished with various kind of signs, specifically made to remind the family to do things right this year. We won’t give away what they all did to make Joe happy, just check the video below!
“The whole town rallying around Joe getting his Father’s Day wish was amazing to see and the look on his wife’s face after seeing Main Street says it all,” said Dan Kelleher, Chief Creative Officer at Deutsch NY, in a press release.
Speaking about MR. Gray, Sr. Director Value Brands at Anheuser-Busch, Daniel Blake said: “Joe embodies everything Busch stands for; he’s loyal, hard-working and dedicated to his family. Fathers like Joe deserve the best possible gift on their special day – we just wanted to point his family in the right direction so that they could show Joe how much he means to them.”
Although we did miss the Father’s Day itself, we couldn’t stand still in front of such refreshingly cool piece of work. Crack open a cold one and enjoy the short show. Cheers!
