Ever wondered how cool it would be if Batman himself would knock on your door to deliver the groceries that you absolutely need but don’t have time to go shopping for? You did picture it, didn’t you? Now, here comes Walmart to fulfill this dream of yours. But don’t you get too excited, because the hypermarket chain will make only half of your dream come true.

To surprise its customers, the retail company borrowed some of the most famous Hollywood cars to help the brand with its Walmart Grocery Pickup service. Look, this is quite an incredible scenario the American retailer has imagined here alongside Publicis Groupe’s Walmart-dedicated agency, Department W. We still need to mention this: don’t get too excited because you won’t actually find the Knight Rider’s KITT in front of your house. But c’mon, it’s satisfying to just think how cool this would be, isn’t it?

Let’s leave your dreams aside for just a moment and see what the New York-based agency has in mind to help Walmart grow even more in popularity. You’ll probably thank their creatives for nicely complementing your endless imagination with some more crazy ideas!

So here we go: Walmart’s first national US campaign, which launched during the Golden Globes program, features some “Famous Cars” that beautifully highlight the wonderful adventures one can experience with the Walmart Grocery Pickup service. To introduce their new perk, the retail company chose iconic cars that customers could easily recognize. Whilst some vehicles are pure CGI graciously contoured by The Mill, others are actually the real thing, for which Walmart had to collaborate with different Hollywood studios.

According to Walmart’s Chief Marketing Officer Barbara Messing: “We not only picked ‘famous cars’ from iconic movies we knew would be instantly recognizable to our customers, but we also worked with a variety of different Hollywood studios to gain access to these vehicles. This helped ensure the ‘famous cars’ looked just like what our customers knew from the films.”

The pickup car range expands from Batman, Beetle-based Transformer, and Jurassic Park, to Ghostbusters, Jurassic Park Explorer, to comic vehicles like the Dumb & Dumber dog grooming van, and even to cartoon automobiles such as Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine and the Flintstones rocky ride. For those passionate about fairytales, there’s also a pumpkin that takes the shape of a carriage with two horsepower. Neat!

Though Walmart has long been known for its TV commercials, the brand took into consideration featuring the “Famous Cars” elsewhere, like social media, online videos, radio, and, of course, in its stores. “By sharing a consistent message across a variety of platforms, we’re confident we’ll be able to convince even more customers to give Walmart Grocery Pickup a shot,” claims the retail company.

Check out the 90-second-long spot and let us know if you can guess all the cars that star in the video. You can leave some suggestions also, maybe Walmart will take your ideas into consideration and might feature them in a similar ad in the future!
