Gareth, Shani, Kate, Claire, Alex, Charlie, and Deb are seven Victorians who either tragically lost their lives or dramatically changed their lives forever because of car accidents. They are siblings, kids, or parents of someone. In short, they are humans, and our body is not built to survive or get out without injuries from a high-impact car accident. Except TAC‘s (Transport Accident Commission) ideal being that can survive any car accident, Graham, the deformed human being, imagined to raise awareness about the way people drive and how vulnerable humans are in the face of car accidents.

Each of the Victorians represents an unwritten chapter in a book or a life cut short. Their lives are stories “Left Unfinished,” RTSSV (Road Trauma Support Services Victoria) and TAC’s campaign through which they pay tribute to the people involved, friends, and families, in road traumas. Created by the Taboo Group agency, the initiative serves as a reminder to people that we shouldn’t take our lives for granted when we are behind the wheel.

The campaign aims to make people stop and think about their behavior in traffic so that other car crashes won’t happen again. As part of the initiative was an exhibition, which took place at the Melbourne Museum Plaza between 15th and 22nd November. The physical exhibition featured seven items, each representing a story that was left unfinished because of car accidents.

With the help of creative agency Unbnd, the exhibition is also available online, in the form of an AR experience. All of these stories are available online at leftunfinished.com.au. Each virtually exhibited item is brought to life via a story, which is accompanied by video content and a photo gallery. The experience is available on phones and if it happens to open it via PC, a QR code will help you get the virtual exhibition on your smartphone.

“These seven seemingly ordinary items belong to seven Victorians whose lives were either tragically lost or forever changed while on the road. Each one represents a chapter in a book that will never be written or a life cut short and ultimately, a story left unfinished. This interactive exhibition is a tribute to those individuals and a reminder for all Victorians to never take our lives for granted when we get behind the wheel,” states TAC on its webpage.
