It’s hard to accurately capture the strong bond that humans form with their dogs. While some people may think that doggos are strictly the man’s best friend, others (particularly dog owners) are so emotionally attached to their dog that when they look at the four-legged being they see a family member rather than just a pet. And frankly, how could they think of their pooch otherwise, when this cute ball of fur can’t wait for its man to come home to finally ask “Who’s been a good boy?”

Unconditional love is the priceless reward people receive from their dogs. Of course, no one likes to see their dog hurt yet, most dog owners can agree that, sometimes, their pet is not thinking clearly. So, your dog might not have been the best boy in the neighborhood, as even the smartest and most obedient animals can sometimes make bad decisions, unintentionally getting themselves into trouble and making their hoomans worry about them.

Thankfully, with Future Generali India Insurance (FGII), dog parents have one less thing to worry about and one more reason to smile. For the launch of its “FG Dog Health Cover,” a comprehensive health insurance plan for pet dogs, FGII takes some financial weight off the owners’ shoulders when their pet gets sick or injured. The news is something dog owners are very pleased to hear yet, to make it even better, the company complements its message with a digital campaign developed by Mullen Lintas.

The “Oh My Dog” initiative draws its inspiration from the pets’ playful spirit and their silly acts that might get them into trouble, although they clearly don’t intend to hurt themselves or their owners’ feelings. The ad film triggers emotional responses from dog owners, presenting them with scenes they might find extremely familiar: Dogs that hunt cats throughout the urban jungle, dogs that are so stubborn that won’t give up on getting some toast by themselves, or dogs who use the staircase as a slide. We’ll stop here, (wo)of course, because we don’t want to take the video’s joy away from you.

Ruchika Malhan Varma, Chief Marketing Officer, FGII, explains: “For a dog parent and increasing number of households, a dog is much more than a pet today, and is, in fact, an integral part of the family. So, while we go all out to protect our loved ones by purchasing comprehensive health insurance solutions, our customers indeed must feel the same for their pet dogs.”

“Dogs have a tendency to land themselves into unexpected situations that may warrant a huge dent into one’s savings to cover costs for hospitalization, surgeries, and other terminal illness. Our FG Dog Health Cover is designed to cover all this and more towards ensuring that our pet parents can focus on getting the best healthcare for their pet dogs without leaving a dent in their pocket,” she adds.

The campaign is set to make people aware of the importance of purchasing dog health insurance for their furry friends, a message the company shares on social media platforms as well. For the Twitter campaign, FGII partnered with celebrities known for having a soft spot for pets and found the idea of health insurance for dogs as a great way to show how much they care about their dogs. On Instagram, FGII engages followers with a filter-based idea that comprises the dogs’ silly thoughts in a thought bubble.
